Hall Effect Keystrip Kit
The Opus-Two Hall Effect keystrip system provides the builder an alternative to traditional key contacts that is easy to install and reliable. While it is more expensive than a traditional contact system, the following benefits are offered:
1) No need for an I/O card for each keyboard. The keystrips connect directly back to the controller using a RibFlex cable, eliminating a card from the cardchain, the space that card takes up, and the 61 wires per keyboard.
2) Piston sense wires can be directly connected to the hall effect keystrip. This helps further eliminate bulky wire bundles exiting the keyboard.
3) On startup, the system completes a key rest position analysis. This helps ensure that any changes are properly handled, including keyboard maintenance, humidity changes, temperature changes, and more. If the user presses or holds a key during position analysis, the system detects that and adjusts appropriately.
4) Calibration can be completed by the installer in seconds per keyboard.
Each key strip includes adjustable L brackets, #6 mounting screws, 6’ of ribbon cable, 3 ribbon connectors (contact us if crimp tool is needed). If multiple strips are being ordered with a CVE, a RibFlex Joiner Board will be supplied.
